What is the rules/law (UK) on cd sound.
What I mean is, say I wrote a rude story and got a girl to read it and put it onto cd rom. How easy would it be to get this into the shops.
Would any sensors have to listen to it, or not.
Looking at one of my cd's i see nothing on it to say its been registered, all it has is abar code.
So my question is, can I make up my own cd's and tapes which would be rude and then sell them, ie from a shop or even a web site without any hassel.
It just seems such an easy way to get porn out with no hassel. And before you say no one would be interested in listening to such stuff, then how come so manny chat lines make so much cash.
I would think to put porn onto cd or tapes would be cheap and sell with ease.
Any thought on this?

Re: A thought
I am dislexik, cannot spell to save my life.
But I am not daft (I am doing my second degree).
To be honest, cd porn seems to be a great area to move into. I would have thought that such an area would be easy, cheap, low risk and so on.
Just not sure why no one seems to have done it.
Lets face it, its far far far easer to make than a film. I would think that it would cost about ?1.50 to make (thats cost of cd, cover and other costs) and could be sold for say ?5.
You could also inc a few photographs (jpegs) on the cd so that those with pc's could view them, which would be a bonus.
Other ideas I have had is, rather than sell porn, give it away free. I am suprised that people do not put adverts on dvd's or vhs tapes, which would cover the cost of the tape and give these away for free. Ok they may have to be 18 cert as r18 would still have to be given away in sex shops, and I do not think the owners would want to give porn away for free.

Hmmm....
audio porn is not a new thing, but I think it has mainly
migrated to phone sex lines... which are easy to set up
and eliminate the need to set up a distribution network...
leaving marketing as the only thing you have to do.
The US was big on CD porn for a number of years, mainly
going for video clips & interactive games. By the time
mp3 came along they were pursuing DVD as a media instead.
As for 'free porn' paid for by advertisers... there are
a couple of parallels. First are the internet 'free site'
that give you some thumbnail piccies after wading through
banner adverts. Second... The Sport newspaper. Bluntly,
it is very difficult to include enough advertising to
cover your media costs, let alone distribution costs,
marketing costs and ultimately production costs.
Mainstream advertisers would not want their products
to be associated with porn, so the only potential
advertisers would be other porno companies or related
adult services.

Fair point, and I apologise. I cannot for the life of me remember posting that message and can't really see what I was complaining about anyway. In my defence, I did have 16 vodka jellies last night and woke up on the bathroom floor, so perhaps that explains it...
