Well the time has finally come, someone wants a 100% threaded forum, or something like the comment system on myspaz.
Because this is likely to be a high volumn site, I don't really trust my own code to be secure enough, so looking for idea's for a threaded forum.
I was thinking Phorum or Mboard for the threaded.
I quite like the look of riotpix they deserve a link

as a hybrid between threaded and myspaz.
Whats the fellow geeks think ?

is a superb forum and highly customizable with a terrifc community.
Or you could go for the Myspac clone with PHPizabi

I looked at Vanilla and played with it a while ago, but installing all the extra's seemed like a ballache, so i gave up, but completely forgot about it
The example of a 'forum' they shown me that they like is
http://www.mentallica.net/ whick, i think is more like a guestbook and is very close to mforum, altho there is wrote in asp

The extra's for vanilla are actually pretty easy to install surprised you found it a ballsache.
You link is timing out for me so can't view it.

It was more a ballache because the forum as it comes IS vanilla and has pretty much nothing in it, so to make it up to what people wanted at the time (an alternative to SMF) was a serious hassle and needed like 20045830 extra's adding, which is a ballache
The link was ok for me.

Yeah it is pretty 'vanilla' so point taken.
Link is working but slowly - but if that is the thing you are looking for then I'd suggest PHPizabi.

It looks to me like Matt Writes wwwboard rewritten in asp, its BASIC simple and threaded.
I think it looks more like moonfruit.com's guestbook.
The description the client wants it 'I like the mentallica sites forum, or one like myspace', now myspace to me, is just a simple flat guestbook, with avatars, would be easy to add membership to a guestbook and or convert a news script to do that.
Second was 'there too much clicking, click here, click there, just too much and i don't like it' on SMF.
