Dvd/Catalogue Through Post

Hey all,
I've just received a catalogue through the post from www.sexcatalogue.co.uk. For a start I don't know how they have got my name/address but that doesn't bother me. Inside was a DVD with two films called Kiss Me Deadly + Hardcore Payback. I put it on to see what it was like but it only plays one scene [softcore] then asks if you want to watch the rest of it to text or phone to receive a pin number that will unlock it. Has anyone ever done this? I'm not asking for the pin as i'm sure that would be wrong [yawn] but does the quality get any better once it has been unlocked?

Sounds highly suspicious to me.

It's one of the newer ways of getting people to buy stuff and a sort of DRM system but if I were you then as I didn't ask for it then I wouldn't buy it.

Secondly. I think Sex Catalogue is part of David Sullivan's empire and as he said himself he is part of the "con" business so that would be reason enough to leave well alone.

Your choice though.

As eduardo say it's your choice.

If it was me I'd stay well clear.

Throw it in the bin!

There is a simple rule to follow "If there is any ambiguity to what is being sold, then you are not being sold what they want you to think"

Following on from what the other guys have had to say, here is an interesting email we received from someone who thought that they had ordered from us, but turns out it was in fact the very company mentioned.

This is exactly as received, just names removed, but the jist of it is the guy ordered what he though was hardcore, until it arrived!

So, Jacques advice is spot on.

The worse thing about this is that some here (although they won't post) will think it's a very clever marketing ploy.

The reality is it's just another idiot giving the UK industry a bad name.

There was a thread on the promotions forum the other day titled 'hard times'.

The people doing this sort of thing are for me one of the biggest reasons why the UK industry is struggling.

Well I've just put everything back in an envelope and sent it back to them. Thanks for the help.

The exact same thing happened to me. I cut up the DVD, put in back in the accompanying envelope and attached a short letter saying "Shove it up your stinking arse!!!".

It's a total con!!! Please don't be fooled!!!
