ELECTRONIC DEMOCRACY

Power to the people

It seems to me that politicians are universally mistrusted by the indigenous people of their countries. With this in mind I think that the world?s people can govern themselves.

What is called democracy at the moment is a sham with politicians doing not what the people wants but what they want and what their masters in the global capitalist system want... The politicians have more in common with one another than with the people that they say they represent. Look at them in their uniform of blue suits, surrounded by their body guards and their every move and word recorded by the media. Not one of them looks like an ordinary person. Where are the casual clothes, the jeans, t-shirts and where are the women?

The politicians power in the past was derived from censorship: the politicians knew what was going on but the people did not. Now in the 21st century the internet has allowed all of us to learn the truth by the transmission of images from computer to computer. The next revolution will be international with the artists, intellectuals, the politically aware, the bleeding hearts and the concerned communicating directly to each other and sorting problems themselves

Government by the people for the people: a true democracy, an eletronic universal
democracy. The time is ripe for revolution.

Warren,
I am not talking about "everybody voting" but the political initiative being taken by the indigenous minority who are interested in politics. It is easy to predict government stategy because a big media campaign precedes any event like a war, for example.
With internet communication an association of interested people could take the initiative by communicating directly with the citizens of another country using extra parliamentary means.
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Trouble is, the average IQ of the UK is around 102.

Just like pure dictatorships, pure democracies are a recipe for disaster.

Sam,
People with "average IQ" are not usually interested in forming radical political associations or in revolution!
Mike.

I don't agree with that Mike.

If Mr average was never interested in politics, then '1 man, 1 vote' would never have come about in society.

Cut the head off any body, and it becomes blind, unable to feed itself, and dies.
