I've got the original Manhunt and to be honest its rubbish,This is probably the best thing that could have happened PR wise for the game..

Just like Carmageddon a few years ago when that got banned and got all the publicity.The makers just change the blood to a green colour and the game passed.

Correct on both counts.

It also had a control system that did indeed make you want to strangle someone, namely the programmers.

what really bothers me about this though is the notion that computer games can be responsible for crimes as severe as murder - its a ridiculous blame culture we live in

I liked the game. I think it was wise to rate it 18 certificate. Thing is kids can get hold of these games easier than porn but you dont hear anyone banging on about it do you.

I guess mindless psychotic violence and murder is more acceptable than young Timmy seeing a pretty girl smoking beef on the internet.

Seriously though I cant imagine a game on the same par as the movie Hostel warranting a ban. I can understand Rock Star Games disappointment. I hope it wins on appeal too. i was really looking forward to this game.

Anyway you'll be able to buy it for "fi pong" from the chinese pirates on the high streets anyway.

Played the first one earlier and to be honest I wasn';t that impressed. It's gratuitous violence and encourages it in a different way to other games. I hate censorship, I always had but these just seem like quite crap concepts for games
