Wouldn't Anelka want to go somewhere where he has a chance of winning something ? Arsenal are in the competition for fourth place aren't they with Tottenham, Portsmouth, Everton, Newcastle .. possibly Villa, West Ham and Man City .. that's Arsenal's mini-league.

Nicely put.
I'm a long time Arsenal fan and I don't particularly care that he's gone, because he's a shadow of the player he was three years ago. He's spent two years fucking the club around (one year playing games over signing a contract, one year "injured" although he was actually dropped for a month because he was disrupting the dressing room).
He was a great player for us but the only thing I'll miss are his goals. I won't misss his famous glare of death when a player decides not to pass to him and won't miss his sulking, theatrics or his "I love the club" act.
If he loves Arsenal so much, why is he off because David Dein got the push for trying to engineer a takeover of the club by a man who would have to BORROW ?650m to buy the shares? Debt loaded on top of debt that is. Henry is just covering his arse with all this stuff about how much he loves Arsenal. There was a time I believed it, but that time went with his drawn out contract drama and behaviour during it.
As for who we buy, there's no shortage of money. The board took out a ?40m loan to provide funds for transfers, we've sold a few players totalling another ?20m-25m and still have Reyes to offload. Whether the manager will actually spend it is another question. He's had money every year and managed not to buy.
The future is bright, in my opinion. We had become too reliant on Henry, just as we were on Ian Wright, but we survived his loss and we'll survive him as well.

Can't type too busy self harming.
I can live with loosing Henry, I am more worried we won't keep Fabrecas and Van Persie.
I just can't understand moving to a new stadium to create the new Arsenal era, and we self destruct from the inside. Unless they know better.
I will miss Henry's magic, but won't miss his latter half season performances with his head and shoulders down like a baby because he didn't get the ball.
I think he should never have been captain I felt he was better as a genius star player, rather then having the responsibility as a captain.
Gutted he's gone, but being a gooner I am used to disappointment.
