Many years ago, I frequented a great casino in Coventry (100 Club) as my friend was a manager at the next door nightclub. I was always signed in and I went JUST for the buffet which was free, and I ain't talking some egg mayo sandwiches and crappy pork pies, this was dressed salmon and a chef carving joints of ham......really classy joint, and the croupiers were stunning.
Nowadays, casinos offer nothing like that.

only on a monday though for some reason (thats why all takeaways are closed monday)

Worked in one for years. As long as you go for fun, its fine, but as the odds on table games are in the house favour, you will lose.

Haven't been too often---maybe a handful of times in my life---but it's best to go in with a fixed figure of what you are comfortable with losing, and stick to it.
