Officer Dibble/Loughborough

My sincere thanks to Ch. Supt. Dibble for the excellent lunch today. During the course of our repast he mentioned a thread I had missed re Loughborough.
Many moons ago after my Army basic training, I was sent on a special course to Loughborough which to the uninitiated is between Derby and Nottingham.
The sex life there was non existent - even for rampant squaddies.
We used to go to Nott to drink which was hardly any better and for the residents of these three towns I can only fervently wish on their behalf that things have improved.
Much later, I was once arrested in Nottingham for pissing in a deserted entry at 2a.m. when I was desperate. Had to drive all the way back for the case and was conditionally discharged by a magistrate who must have known what it is like to have a bursting bladder.
All appropos of nothing - just felt like saying it.

Have not watched it, but have to say that everyone could benefit.
Been said before by old farts like me that a bit of Service training would benefit us all inasmuch that our girls and grandmothers could rest easier. Were it not for the fucking hard drug dealers and their utterly stupid clients.
And before anyone says it, blasting Kalashnikovs in the air is NOT Service training. I'm talking about self-discipline and self-respect. This naturally leads to respect for others.
Serious?! I make no apologies.

Admire your front "frank" and the irony/sarcasm.
However, neither twin completed NS.
As for "you", your only claim to fame was to totally and completely fuck up your life with twenty odd years in the slammer to achieve a rep and act like a total animal on the odd occassions "you" were out.
Are you a fan or what? Got pix on the wall? Watch "Hard Bastards"? Pose in front of the mirror?
This is a porn site not "Soldier of Fortune"

Think it was intended as irony. National service would be a costly and if it was re-introduced, an irrevesible mistake. I've served with soldiers who have absolute no clue whatsoever and if the shit hit the fan, they would get people killed. Whilst we have an all volunteer military, casualties can be kept to a minimum with professionalism and a good quality of training. If you go back to conscription, you end with a lower standard of recruits as they have not volunteered, leading to resentment that they are there in the first place, therefore the level of professionalism will also suffer. Todays generation question everything, which is not always the best train of thought when it comes to assaulting hills. I agree, all should be taught to respect all, as they would wish to be respected. When I think of a way to get said results, i'll run for political office and prepare to be deified. Loughborough is still shit by the way. Has been for my previous 28 years of life anyway.
