Women who use porn

Hello there
I work for a production company called Optomen Television and am developing a documentary about heterosexual women and porn - do they use it? how do they use it? what sort of material do they use?
There is a lot of American porn (films and websites) aimed directly at women but I have not been able to find any British stuff. Is there anyone in the UK making porn for women? If anyone has any advice or information please get in touch.
Thanks
Jon

There was a thread here a while back about a couple of women who went into the biz, aiming the product at the high-disposable-income female market.
Whether they've had any success, I don't know.....

Marcus. Judging from what I have heard women say they prefer erotic stuff. Not necessarily soft focus crap like Penthouse or Andrew Blake. But I think the current trend towards anal gaping and multiple facials does very little for women in general. A lot of mordern porn is more like a biology lesson on the interior of a womans lower bowel and has no erotic quality at all. And as for bukkake-whats all that about? Its about degrading the woman for the pleasure of the veiwer. Some women MAY like it but not many.
I realise its Dibbles job to critisise modern porn but I agree its rarely worth a toss these days. If men find it shite then women will find it double shite.

Indeed Marcus, and "use porn" seems an awfully unerotic industrial sort of term to use.
Regadring the posh birds jj. I seem to recall an article in The Times about some top drawer totty opening an up-market sex shop in the West End geared towards trendy upmarket ladies and specializing in exclusive lingerie (not that cheap piss taking stuff you get in normal sex shops and cataloges) and designer dildos! Sounded cushty.

Quite right magoo. It is indeed a pleasure to share a forum with right minded souls like your good self. You hit the nail right on the head when you stated that "it's rarely worth a toss these days" indeed it has quite the opposite effect on me and a whole load of others, if sales are anything to go by.
Skint producers are now beging to rue the very day that they championed crap birds and crap sex.

In response to my first "What you prefer" thread. 60% were in favour of "erotica", the other 40% spread about.
Perhaps this answers the question in part - except that to my knowledge, no females replied. Interesting.
Having seen what seems like thousands of naked female bodies,
if I can 'look up the skirt or down the blouse' it still turns me on, indeed far more so. Now this could be considered old-fashioned; so be it, each to his own. But the pulling apart of female genetalia ala a gynacologists couch is hardly an adoration of womanhood.
With absolutely no disrespect to anyone, there are many reasons people buy/talk about porn. There are unfortunates in a physical or mental way who may not have the opportunities of the rest of us and they have to be both respected and catered for. This may be long-winded, but give it a thought.

I think the woman who is seemingly an important name is Candida Royalle with her company 'Femme'. Linda Williams in 'Hard Core' says 'but the real importance of Femme is its serious attemp tp visualize women's desire in a genre that has consistently continued to see sex, ..., from the viewpoint of the phallus.' Phallus in this case is the (image of the erect) penis. Actually I think she uses 'phallus' with a different and more subtle meaning.
A porn film from the viewpoint of the penis? The camera is the penetrator? The penis enters the vagina?(by viewing you are 'penetrating')

Directors who do porn for women.. yep.. Ben Dover! fuck all that power + misogyny crap..can't really understand why if you love women you'd get off on that scared look or worse the bored one..
Ben genuinely seems to respect the girls and their laughter and good humour seems genuine enough.. floats my girlfs boat more than the US stuff anyway..
Although I did read a quote from a director saying that he thought the most erotic thing you could see in porn was shame...any thoughts?

For me, at least, probably the most erotic thing in porn (and VERY rare indeed...) is to see two women tongue-kissing each other like they mean it, and then plating one another in like fashion.
For the latter (and a tiny bit of the former) try Demia Moor in 'Cape Town'. Gentle, but very enthusiastic.
The only Brits who come near are maybe Georgette Neale and Laura Hermenson who, alas, have too often been hampered in such endeavours by their colleagues' reluctance.
