I've been having a few problems with my PC and thought the nice people on this forum would be of more help than the wankers at BT.

I have a wireless BT hub and over the weekend and yesterday the broadband light on the hub keeps blinking or going off and a BT hub not conected page comes up. i rang them and they said to change the micro filter, did that the light seems to be staying on longer but evreything is still going very slow. You tube clips or other video sites are stopping and starting pics are taking double the amount of time and i'm having to sign in on every message board and email i go on.

As i've said before on here i'm usless with computers does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Could it have anything to do with internet files being deleted?

Cheers For any help

Depending on what internet files have been deleted, this is probably the reason you're having to sign in on all your websites. You've deleted the files that hold all your usernames and passwords.

As fpr the wireless hub problem.............it could be anything. If you've not changed any settings, updated the software etc then it's probably BT updating their service, or just being plain crap (the latter is as likely as the updating).

I'd suggest reinstalling the hub, but if you don't know much about PC's, and the unistallation/reinstallation hits a snag, I don't want you sending the heavies round to my house.

As ash said: don't delete your cookies and internet files. There's not much point these days, at least when it comes to saving space on a hard drive.

BT are for phones. Get yourself a decent ISP.

Try connecting to the Home Hub directly using an Ethernet cable also ask BT to fit one of their new ADSL Face Plates (this will negate the use of microfilters and you get a better connection).

If using an Ethernet cable speeds up / stabalises your broadband then you probably have wi-fi interference.

Many ISP's have problems with YouTube.

Yeah the hub is connected with a Ethernet cable.

i deleted the files because i saw that id been on some porn sites and downloaded some pics(the first name i saw was Victoria Brown)which if BT where coming around to take a look i didn't want them seeing i've been on a 101 porn sites.

As for You tube i'd not had many problems before, it's also taking forever to download using Windows media player but it plays fine.

What the best ISP?

I have BT as my ISP. I'm unable to view YouTube, ImageShack and anything on a P2P is blocked!

if bt wanted to see the files they could anyway as far as i know apparently when there deleted therye still there, same as when you empty recycle bin the files in there are still on your pc just that theyve got a tick against them saying they could be overwritten if ever needed to be
i think its something like that anyway
