I'm a rather old-fashioned person, and not married. Call me naive, but I thought one of the main points of marriage was trust between the two partners. If someone is willing to lie to their "life partner" or cheat on them, then what exactly is the reason for them staying together?

Insecurity, not wanting to "be alone" & even being in a loveless marriage has some form of security. Unless of course, they are in an abusive relationship, then that is a whole different can of psychological worms.
