protecting the unborn

I have a friend whose wife is pregnant and he can't stop her from drinking and smoking joints to excess. It saddens me that his child will probably have congenital defects and a low IQ.

This brings out my authoritarian instincts, and if I were Minister for health, I would make such women stay in closed maternity units where there could not consume substances harmful to their unborn child.

I thought your view on smoking joints was that it didn't do harm to anyone Mike?

That is not just terrible on the child but she will pay for this as a mother when she has a constantly ill baby that requires more attention than the norm because of its disadvantages.

Some people are so dumb...Unless she gives it up for adoption maybe in which case she should find her arse hauled into court for negligence.

I have no time for people like that. there is no excuse. She should have done herself and baby a favour by aborting the pregnancy at an early stage if she didnt want the child.

More a case of her being pig-shit stupid than just plain old selfish...

Randy,

I feel that anything to excess can be harmful especially alcohol and tobacco and even large amounts of cannabis to an unborn child.

They should face criminal prosecution for child abuse.

Hi Tequila,
Starts off with a big joint in the morning before breakfast, which is breakfast! and then drinks at least a bottle of wine every every evening with lots of skunk and tobacco joints.

Trumpton,
Right on man! These are exactly my sentiments and it is ironical that Tony Blair and his three thousand new laws never thought of this!
