Just look through the iTunes settings and choose the options to upload songs to iPod manually.

Create a playlist for you and one for your girlfriend, then just drag and drop the songs from the main library to the playlist of choice.

When you plug in an iPod you can just drag and drop whichever playlist you want to the iPod. So 'Jasons Playlist' is dragged into you're iPod.

I have playlists for my nano, a 20gig iPod, my girlfriends nano, and my young niece's shuffle.

If you are using XP then you can set up two "identities"

Go into "Control Panel" and choose "User Accounts" then "Create a new account".

Give the account a name (her name) and make her an Administrator.

Next time you start Windows you will get a welcome screen and a chance to log on as the original user or the new user.

Windows stores the files and settings for each user in different places (different folders) so you should each be able to have your own "environment".

You could each have your own e-mail settings, desktop background and so on.

Well it's changed with the new software updates since I did it last.

Plug in your iPod and the window pops up within itunes showing you the summery. If a pop up appears asking you if you want to automatically sync your iPod just unchack it.

Otherwise, unchack the option in the summery window and make sure you tick the 'Manually manage music' box.

Also, using playlists doesn't affect how the iPod software categorises songs. You will still be able to browse by album/song name/artist/genre etc.

I don't know what you mean.

Are you trying to drag and drop a movie file from the video playlist in iTunes onto your iPod?
