I'm assuming nobody on here lives in the seriously affected areas of flooding.

our town has been flooded but thankfully not to the extent that Sheffield, Doncaster and now Gloucester have been.

unfortunately there were landslides after the floods so my train link to sheffield (30 miles away) will be closed until late september. thankfully i can still get south to london otherwise i would be getting a job at tescos to pay the bills!!

If the worst comes to the worst, you will let us know which Tescos, wont you? I have to say there's a good few girls on the tills at my local one that would do very well on the glamour front.

Yeah, I live in the Forest of Dean, 1 of the worse affected in Gloucestershire, the weather is causing havoc here.

On Friday, i had to drive through all of the affected areas, thank god it was early friday. Worcester, Malvern, Upton upon Severn, Tewkebury, Cheltenham.
Ive never seen rain like it, it was hard to see out of the coach that i was driving.

presumably after he jettisoned the extra weight, the pint-sized speed freak just floated to safety."

Luckily I live on a hill, so the house is unaffected, but I had a couple of inches of water come through into the car. It wasn't too bad until I put my brakes on, and had gallons of freezing water cover my ankles when I wasn't expecting it.

Some of the roads round here had only just re-opened after the floods a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I live in Gloucestershire, & up until watching the weather report 2 nights ago, the bottom of this district was fucked with all the rain.

After keeping a regular watch on the weather reports, this area is not so bad now, I caught 1 report earlier, where 1 district in Glos in under 5 ft of water.

Thank fuck I don't live in that area, LOL.

However, the News report at 6 said that we (glos area) risk running out of water, the main facility for mains water, their building was flooded out & it automatically shut down, so we are going to have 300,000+ houses run out of water some time over the next 2 days.

Now I have to phone the Water supply company tomorrow, to find out if this exact area is 1 of the areas at risk of running out of water.
