Man that cat was mean and scary and very angry looking! Wouldn't want to mess with THAT cat!

The Tail, & the Ears, watch them, that is an indication to the Cat's state of mind. You saw it's tail up in the air, soft curling of the tip, ears were up, again another suttle hint at an inquisitive/relaxed state.
If it was angry/annoyed/etc, it's ears would be flat back, & it's tail would be thrashing back n fore.

Yeah, you never real own a cat, it owns you, if that is it even wants to be with you.
We've owned cats, and dogs for that matter, my entire life, they are some funny characters.
