It stars Keith Allen in his most animated and demanding role to date.

I have to disagree, for me Shallow Grave introduced me to British films as I was only 10 when I first saw it plus it was the first film that brought my attention to Ewan McGregor.
Good story, good acting, nice twist, all around a fine film with little to complain about.

Ewan Macgregor's finest performance to date was in Dennis Potter's 'Lipstick On Your Collar'.

I felt it was a very satisfying little thriller, darkly humouress, tense and stylish. Was one of the key shot in the arms that the British Film industry needed at the time and introduced the world to a real talent in Danny Boyle. It also has its place in the postmodern film making style of Tarrintino in the sense that it borrows from Hitchcock and Scorsese anmongst others.
