technical question

I am trying to upload an AVI that is 16 minutes long but it stops uploading at 8 per cent. Should I break it down in to smaller clips? If so what size is best? I am on dial up- on the move with my Motorola.

Where are you trying to upload to?

Speaking from experience I've never been able to upload anything bigger than
4mbs on my 56k dial-up line which is why p2ps are the preferred form of sharing for anyone on dial-up

Deuce,
I have this 16 minute film (48 .5 MG) Orgasmgirl that I want to upload to my eroticartist.co.uk server so that I can offer a free film for download on my site . I am on the run on my Motorola dial up.
Mike.

Hi Mike, thats a big file convert it to wmv and it should upload but of course you will lose some quality otherwise you will probably have to break it down into smaller clips.

planeterotica,
WMV does not play on my site for some reason so I expect that I will be forced to cut the film into ten AVI clips.
Mike.

OK, some suggestions, contact your Host & find out if they have any limitations to file size for their servers?

I hate converted broken down clips, try this instead, instead of playing in wmv (conversion), or breaking into AVI Clips (conversion) leave it as is, but use "HJ Split", break it multiple files, upload to your server, then post the links on your page. Users can then download the files, use "HJ Split" to rejoin the files (NO loss/degredation at ALL) & have a perfectly working fim to view.

I've just used HJ Split to rejoin off a website, a movie of over 400Mb in size, plays perfectly.

You can also either link to their website directly, or download their program, & upload it straight onto your website. Their License states that as long as you label it's freeware/shareware, & don't edit/change the contents of their product/zip file, then they will not have any problems with you/your site.

Yes, I see the links are up, but your site won't allow downloading.

I believe it's a problem with the file naming, try again, but without the "Copy%20of%20"

Copy%20of%20orgasmgirllindacopy.AVI.001
---
Copy%20of%20orgasmgirllindacopy.AVI.036
