Is it just me or is James bond a pile of cack?
I just came in from the boozer and switched on the box and one of the Bond films was showing and I think Robert Carlyle was the baddie, usual plot, Doctor Evil he was there and the plot, who wrote this turkey?
I mean, when Chames (Do you like my Russian accent?) was doing his daring-do stuff all over the world didn't he realise that Britain's greatest threat was from three Irishmen in an old white transit van packed to the gunnels with fertilizer and sugar.
I'd like to have seen Bond lasting a few days in Belfast or Derry in the bad ol' days of yore'.

Utter bollocks- but that's what makes it so fun!
Daniel Craig nearly as good as Connery- but the 'reboot' means the support have gone:John Cleese/Samantha Bond/Colin Salmon/Geoffrey Palmer.....it's the ensemble nature of the films- be it them or Bernard Lee/Desmond Llewellyn/Robert Brown that made them work.!

I still think Sean Bean would have made a good Bond. Never really been a fan, but it'd been nice listening to Bond with a proper mans voice. !wink!

Having a Sheffield lad as Bond would have set that inveterate old snob Fleming birrelling in his grave.
And ordering a Vodka Martini in a Yorjshire accent . . . nah.
Matt Lucas is the next Bond, but you didn't hear it from me.

I have never watched an entire James Bond film. I don't know exactly how many there are, but the times when I've started to watch them (usually Christmas day afternoon on the TV) I've either fallen asleep or have been distracted in some other way!
From the bits I have seen it all seems standard car chase and big explosion stuff!

Bruce Willis in a sweaty vest, kicking the crap out of baddies in the "Die hard" series. Now that's escapist entertainment at it's finest.
Maybe it's because I'm from the North of England that I always found the idea of James Bond as pretty daft, and just not very threatening as a supposed licensed killer, whereas Ol' Bruce really did the business as far as dishing out violence is concerned.
