Ask again on Aug. 9th 2008, when we will know if the Black Cats and
Royboy have survived.

Yes.
Best keeper in Britian bar none and only 24 (I don't think any of the Scottish blokes on this forum will have much bad to say about him, put it that way), the days of the English clubs buying Scottish players on the cheap is finished so time to start paying up Mr. Sky Sports!!

He is the best keeper in Britain! Is definitely better than Artur Boruc & i am not a Hearts fan or a Celtic Fan! Petr Cech definitely runs him close, but he has to wear that stupid protective head gear & that has to put him into second place!
Think it was a mistake for him to go to Sunderland though. Don't think they will survive! He should have stayed at Hearts for another season & then waited for the inevitable Arsenal move when Lehmann goes at the end of the Season!

Have a look at the first choice keepers in the Premiership. Most are in their 30s (David James, Jussi J??skel?inen, Jens Lehman, Thomas S?rensen, Brad Friedel, Edwin van der Sar, Mark Schwarzer, Antti Niemi, Shay Given) or late 20s (Tim Howard, Paul Robinson)
The only two first choice keepers in top 10 clubs below the age of 25 are Cech at Chelsea and Reina at Liverpool and both had plenty of experience before coming to the Premiership.
The time has gone when a young, up-and-coming keeper will get a regular first team place in one of the big clubs, as a mistake by a keeper is usually costlier than that made by an outfield player, and the pressure is greater than ever for a team to win a trophy or qualify for Europe. That's why Ben Foster was loaned to Watford and Scott Carson to Charlton.
Craig Gordon is worth ?9 million because he is a top quality keeper with 23 international caps and is only 24. I'm just surprised he chose Sunderland over Villa.

He didn't choose Sunderland over Villa. Hearts Owner Vladimir Romanov, didn't accept Villa's bid & wouldn't allow them permission to talk to Gordon!
He did pretty well in his debut, though admittedly he didn't have a lot to do!

not at all, sour grapes i would rather have arthur boruc over craig gordon any day of the week, but like i said before, craig gordon is still a top class player!
