Not even a Liverpool or Chelsea fan but one of the worst Refereeing performances ever! And that including Fulham being robbed of a point versus Boro yesterday!

I put this in the other football thread but I've cut and pasted it here as it's probably more relevant.
"I'm absolutely overjoyed. Not.
That Rob Stiles gave a masterclass in incompetent refereeing and I'm not just talking about the penalty.
One up and comfortable and then he goes and does that. Unbelieveable.
I can't say he lost control after that because he never had control in the first place. He'll probably get stood down by the Premier League for his incompetence but we won't get our 2 points back.
Fairly obvious to say I'm well pissed off!!!!!"

Never was a Pen! What a shambles with the ref dishing out those yellow cards. Chelsea were lucky today thanks too the ref!

I'm a neutral but watching the highlights on MotD2 left me with my head
spinning.
IMO the ref totally lost it. One huge steaming blooper, compounded by
another. I hope PGMOL has the courage to own up to a poor peformance
by one of its own.....
...but I'm not holding me breath.

At least they were big enough to come out and say it but as I said before we don't get our two points back do we.
It wasn't just those two incidents. He seemed to get most of the decisions wrong. Jamie Redknapp said on Sky that the ref lost control after the penalty but he didn't as he never had control over the game at any stage.
The Chelsea players and manager have to take some flak for this is as well because Steven Gerrard is right in the referee cracked under the pressure. That's the pressure the Chelsea players put him under as in every game Chelsea dispute every decision, constantly surround the referee, always bitching in the refs ear.
Man Utd used to do this years ago but Chelsea are 10 times worse and the FA and the Premier League have got to stamp it out.
There's probably some people out there (Chelsea fans mainly) who think it's great professionalism to do this as they succeeded in getting a point because of it but it aint there antics taint the sport.

I'm a Chelsea supporter and I admit it was never a penalty.
I hope the Liverpool supporters on this board also own up to the fact that the free kick from which Steve Gerrard scored the winner against Villa last week should have never been awarded to them.
So Liverpool get 3pts instead of 1 against Villa, and get 1pt instead of 3 against Chelsea... it all evens out in the end!
As for Rob Styles, if Liverpool fans think he was talked into giving the penalty by Chelsea players, after the penalty not one decision went Chelsea's way, in spite of some pretty blatant fouls by Liverpool players. Again, it all evens out.

All it would take is the backing of the FL/FA and one courageous ref- send
off five, six, seven of these unprofessional morons in one match and word
would soon get around and stop it almost immediately. The existing Laws
cover it under 'ungentlemanly conduct' and League bye-laws provide for a
charge of 'bringing the Game into disrepute'.
But I suppose the money-men who run the game would have
heart-attacks if this were adopted.

For once I agree with you Bob. Didn't they say Mr Rob Stiles was the ref that gave the penelty 'for' Liverpool against Sheff Utd on the first day of last season? - Where Gerrard jumped over a phantom leg and fell over?
