Over the last year I have heard many calls for Gonzo to change its style. Is this something that the fans think is necessary for it too survive or is its current tried and proven formula ok.

I for one am sick of cheap productions, vaguely attractive girls and annoying tossers like BD,PMc etc who tell us they are shagging! Really! I knew there was a reason to buying this tape.......
Some high value productions with top models would be appreciated. I imagine you may get some of the higher class girls interested if they didn't have to work in cheap suuroundings with lank haired gobshites who give a running commentary...........
Ah that Monday feeling.........

Well I for one like the tried and tested format, but that's not to say that new things shouldn't be attempted. He who dares wins and all that....

I don't see it dying, what replaces it? You go back to "films" which require performers to diverge from what they're good at (shagging and its variations) and try our patience with what they're very rarely good at - acting, dialogue, remembering your lines. Throw in screenplays, continuity editing, set dressing, equipment hire to a higher standard than is required in gonzo and what have you got? All that effort, time, patience, money for scenes which we all view on fast forward

Alive and kicking I would say, with enough of a diversity
for porn fans to find a type of product that suits them -
although, as has been pointed out on the forum before,
there is a nasty little tendency for U.S. producers to
attempt to 'out gross' each other.

Of course, thats the view of someone who likes Gonzo.

I'd like to see it go more honest, I can't stand all the obviously fake scenarios you get in Ben Dover and other gonzo. Obviously someone out there likes it because it sells, but what I want to see is real girls with real expressions in real situations. Not all this obviously fake meeting a girl in the supermarket then taking her back to your place for her first anal type scenarios, it's just so fake and such a turn off, for me anyway.

Surely if gonzo 'changes its format', it'll no longer be gonzo?

Done well, a la Ben, it's workable enough: we all know it's a set-up, but can suspend disbelief sufficiently for the action to succeed.
'Proper' gonzo, complete with shaky camera-work, is irritating to watch, despite the spontaneity. Something like OEJ is about my ideal for this genre, and even there the models are nearly all professionals........and either is preferable to the Vivid-style efforts.

Buttman manages to have loads of star names who he just happens to keep bumping into. It is quite engrosing when you first see gonzo films but the scenes are so obviously fake and you often have to put up with loads of filler scenes building up to the shagging scenes.

if they didnt use the 'situations' it would just be girl turns up - have sex - the end.

it kinda adds to the build up and if the scene is in a particualr place it makes it feel like its not just for the hell of shagging in a strange place, perhaps they should use more believable set up's?
