Great programme last night about caving, would love to have a go at that.
Spoiled by Kate 'although I'd give her one' Humble who whined and moaned about heights, water, tight squeezes (fnarr fnarr) etc.
I wondered if any fool hardy amateur cavers/potholers had ventured alone and got lost or stuck......that'd be a bit off-putting for keen 'have-a-go' blokes like me

Solo caving is suicide, simple as that.

I have a little book on caving from the 1970s that is very interesting- if I had more time, I would take it up as a hobby. Surf the net if it interests you- there are excellent caves in Wales, Derbys., Yorks. and Lancs. from memory.

Hey Ace

Afraid to say I missed the show last night but it must have got record viewing figures or some thing. Because it sounds they will be doing another one soon. Just heard on Radio 4 that alot of people at the BBC want Jeremy Paxman to "disapear into a large hole in the groud" today!!

Hope this finds you in good health

BB

Off to Skeggy.....woooohoooooo

Get ready to mug yer postie on Wednesday BB !wink!

I'm a huge fan of Paxman, I won't have a bad word said about him, top bloke who tells it like it is and isn't afraid to put cunts like Bush and Blair under pressure with good, honest questions!

Back to caves, I suppose I'll stick to the tourist ones with lights and 'man-made' stagmites* for the time being

* I recall reading that a 'basic cave' was found and for added attraction, man made features were added for visual effects

Called spelunking in the States which makes it sound rude. After all, its only trying to force yourself through something dark and wet.
Ahhhhh!
