What consenting adults get up to together is no one's business but theirs.

There is no norm to which we can all conform. Sexually, ethnically, spiritually, there are differences. Upbringing and values, more differences. Health issues bring in more differences, and hobbies and interests.

"Gaybashing" is a reality for some. Was it last year or the year before when a gay man was beaten to death by a group of teenagers, including a girl?

Last week, as the media was obsessing on the shooting in Liverpool, a special needs man was the victim of a vicious attack in the north-east of England, and died.

A group of youths were charged with assault after a pair of Goths were attacked. The man suffered severe injuries, but still managed to visit his girlfriend in her hospital ward before she died. Fresh charges will be pending.

We may not agree with the choices---sexual, religious, social---that other people make, but it is their right to choose. Variety, it has been said, is the spice of life. Too many prefer bland, and expect others to go for that too.

And there are probably no more anti-gays here than in any randomly-
selected demographic- it may just be that here the mask of anonymity
makes them feel more secure to spout their schtick. There has in the past
been the odd instance of nastiness which was stamped on either by the
other, saner, forumites or even by the Mods.
