Brilliant song, words by William Blake (though claimed by Peter Ackroyd to have been written with deep irony, it's mostly recited and sung today in all sincerity). There is an old legend connecting JC with Britain, and the area around Glastonbury. Probably created by the same inventive monks who "discovered" the tomb of Arthur and Guinevere and invented tourism.
Incidentally, although as nutty as squirrel shit, Blake is one of the great geniuses England produced.
