Fucking worst decade ever...for everything. The music was unutterably crap (Spandau fucking Ballet for goodness sake), the fashions were hideous - young men dressing like their fucking grandfathers did), fucking bastard punks from the seventies turning into eighties yuppies (what a great social change punk wrought), Thatchers demonic destruction of the North East (shipyards closed when it would have been cheaper to keep then open, mines closed because the cost to mine a ton of coal was ?100 and it could be bought from Poland for ?80 - the wonderfully clever monetarists who thought that one up didn't foresee how much it would cost NOT to mine that ton of coal), crap films, the state subsidised creation and rise of the underclass, Privatisation of our utilities (those very same monetarists getting us to buy what we already owned)...the total lack of any economic or social foresight, the decade when crime became rampant, ordinary working class people becoming the victims of burglaries by lazy, filthy underclass scum, Thatchers hatred of football fans., snotty Southern Chelsea fans waving ?10 notes at travelling Newcastle fans during the miners strike (lovely people).all to a soundtrack of utter fucking shite music....Yeah the Eighties were fucking great! Still the Toon produced some great football with KK playing for them

Thatcher demolished our education system and we are still bearing witness to that two decades later.

Now Wazzakins you've really surprised me with this one! Are you actually defending Thatcher - the milk snatcher, for it was her who removed free school milk from schools when she was education secretary.
