Why hasn't ....

... Charlie Dickens published any new books. I'm now bored with Great Expectations, and if he doesn't write something new soon I'm going to forget all about the old slag and go to my new favourites (for this week) Wilkie Collins and Thomas Hardy.

Come on Charlie----your fickle (not to mention thick) fans can't wait forever.

Yeah, I used to really love Tess Of The D'Urbervilles, and used to send her lots of gushing love messages, but she's just boring now and nowhere near as lush as Bathsheba Everdene. But never mind, I'll be totally gaga about some other literary heroine next week and calling all my former faves a bunch of old slappas.

He does too----he has Writer's Block. Caught it from some cheap whoooor in Casterbridge. I read it in the News of the Wessex World so it must be true.

His biggest fan----this week.

I hear there's a young chap called H. G. Wells who's quite good. And he believes in free love.

But he also thinks women are worthwhile, so maybe that's not such a good idea.

Still, Hardy must be well impressed that you are his greatest ever all-time fan, and say brilliant things about him. Until someone else comes along and you get bored with him.

Think it was a mistake him signing that exclusive contract with Snipcock and Tweed.

I am so glad someone was on my wave length. Cheers, WZ.
