I really do wish everyone would stop TRYING to tell this story
Especialy given how no one can really prove what the real story/legend was
If you can't match excalibur don't bother
Just watched the clive owen, eira knigtley 2004 version
From here on in I'm sticking to Books & parchments

Knightly was pure filth all covered in wode and charging about in the fight scene though. I don't normally like flat chested women, but she can chuck me over her shoulder and fuck the shit out of me any time, looking like that.

The Matter Of Britain is something film-makers always screw up---even Boorman's attempt was a failure. The story, as we know it, is an uneasy mix of Celtic myth, Saxon rebellion and Norman and French romance, with lots of mysticism thrown in. The central character has to be strong, to lead his people, and also weak, cuckolded by his wife and his best friend (the later French additions).
The fact that Shakespeare steered clear of it says it all.

The worst has to be Sean Connery in First Knight,
with its set and costume design by the criminally gay.

Excalibur from around 1981 was pretty decent......I'm 99% positive Helen Mirren gets 'em out.......again !wink!
As much as I love Ray Winstone, he picked a wrong 'un in 2004's King Arthur

Yet many reviewers thought he was the goods
Compared to the main mis-cast actors he was OK for a bit of comic relief
"Winstone, so excellent in Sexy Beast, here provides sporadic, much-needed comic relief as a knight whose girlfriend has given birth to so many of their children, they've assigned them numbers rather than names. They "mean something to me," Bors says during a rare moment of introspection. "Especially No. 3 - he's a good fighter." "
Helen getting them out and then some
