Lord Justice Sedley - DNA Samples
Did you see that news article last week where appeal court judge, 'Lord' Justice Sedley, reckoned that instead of just taking DNA samples from criminals and suspects (people under arrest) samples should be taken from everyone on British soil, (including visitors). He justified this by saying it would be 'fairer' to everyone. Apparently, the Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen was distraught that a very large proportion of the people that ended up having their DNA sampled (i.e., arrested or convicted) were ethnic sorts - and in particular Afro Caribbean people. Here's a quote from the BBC News website.
"Figures compiled from Home Office statistics and census data show almost 40% of black men have their DNA profile on the database. That compares with 13% of Asian men and 9% of white men."
We then learn that the Rt. Hon. 'Sir' Stephen was a former member of the Communist party... Ahh, so, it all begins to fall into place. Why am I not surprised?
But this episode raises two important questions -
Is 'Lord' Justice Sedley a despicable upper middle-class git in the mould of Blunt, Burgess, Phillby and MaClean? Is he one of those unspeakably arrogant, obnoxious, and indeed sniffy upper-class lefties that have a firm conviction that equality must be universally applied and enforced - amongst the lower orders?
And secondly, is 'Sir' Stephen suggesting that many those ethnic sorts who are arrested on suspicion and who make up a far larger percentage of the prison population that their presence in the wider population would suggest - have been fitted up by the state? Is that what this twat of a judge is suggesting? That they have been wrongly convicted? Because if they have not been wrongly convicted then the only other conclusion one can draw is that these people are simply predisposed to committing crime. Maybe the Right fucking Honorable Comrade 'Sir' Stephen should have kept his underclass trap shut, instead of opening a can of worms that he, of all people, wouldn't want to see wriggling around on the sidewalk.
