Bollinger, Krug et al are pricey and a bit overated, I love champagne, but generally stick to the ?15-?25 a bottle stuff the drier the better, sainsbury's own is quite quaffable.

Mersault grand cru and permier cru is very nice as is Pouilly Fuiss? and Pouliiy Fum?.

The rest unless estate bottled is, I agree, generally shite.


Andrew Pierce is my current favourite tipple from down under, very nice and highly recommended.

Champagne is shite. An Italian sparkling wine is much nicer.

If I am offered champagne, I usually have a Bucks Fizz. Or a bitter if they will let me.

The god's honest truth Carac, I could have bathed in JD free of charge. I fucking hate the stuff and always have rock and roll or not, I used to get bottles and bottles of the pissy stuff sent to me, I gave it away, Jameson's and bushmill's do it for me, especially Jameson's 12 and 18yr old brands.
