Dispatches - MP's Perks

Eh up, did ya? see ?Dispatches? on Channel 4 the other night? It was about MP?s and the amazing perks ?n? pay rises they?ve quietly been awarding themselves ? from mortgage subsidies to solid gold pensions. And it?s not just Labour MP?s; they?re all at it. In fact one insider, an MP, told the program off the record that he knew it was a scandal but that he dare not say anything for fear of being ostracised. He said, ?I have to work closely with these people for 5 days a week ? I can?t risk becoming a none person?. Yes, those poncy fuckers are laughing up their sleeves at you. No wonder they have put your taxes up big style ? they have large nests to feather and extravagant selves to serve.
But what really got up my nose was the fact that Ed Balls and Housing Minister, Yvette Cooper, who are married, are making seriously handsome profits on two properties they are buying (total value $800.000,00) with mortgages subsidised by Joe Sucker ? yes, the taxpayer. Now, this is the snotty cow who wants to build umpteen zillion, high density, human rabbit hutches made of little more than plasterboard (i.e., affordable) on every flood plain from Land?s End to John O?Groats! Of course these cheek by jowl future slums won?t be for the likes of her and Ed, they won?t be encroaching on their green space - which is no doubt why she?s so fucking enthusiastic about them. No, they are intended for ?hard working families? as our Gordon so patronisingly describes us.
One can only hope that the electorate wakes up and realises that they are being shafted both by these elitists in particular and the political classes in general.
