Nurse! The screens!

Post by colonel »

Good to know that MPs stand foursquare against the rise of scantily clad women in advertising, isn't it???

Well- at least here are two who can hardly vote for a 'crackdown on porn'.

I imagine they will in fact be at the front of the queue to vote for a crackdown.

Can only agree with comments here about the lack of sense of humour

Yes, it sounds like the PC mob is at it again. I noticed a couple of PC buzzwords in the BBC report, i.e. 'inappropriate' and 'demeans'. Alice is right to point the finger at 'wimmin's' libbers, but he seems a little confused as to who wimmin's libbers and PC people are. They are not the 'old and frumpy' as he puts it. Quite the opposite in fact. The kind of people who espouse PC causes and doctrines are usually youngish, middle-class, and frequently university educated. They are earnest, zealous, (sometime to the point of hysteria) arrogant and often openly contemptuous of folks who don't share the views they have adopted. These are the people who take the Guardian and Independent; they are the ones who vote Noo-Labour. Shit, they are New Labour.

I would be interested to know how many of the 'nurses' in the pictures are actually staff from the threatened hospital. Or perhaps the producer of the calender thought the people whose jobs might go were too 'frumpy', or that the staff saw it for what it was, a genuine and well meant campaign to save local health provision reduced to purile nudge-nudge inuendo.

?There are many of them too I know- just that the ones you usually see complaining about this type of stuff are overweight and not very attractive,?

Ah, you?ll be thinking of the Greenham Common ?wimmin?, then.

Yes, because they looked crap in dresses and sexy feminine clobber, they thought ? ?I know, because I look crap in girly outfits, I?ll pretend to take a political stance against all that demeaning superficiality. So I?ll get a crew cut, wear doc martins, jeans, and dungarees, talk a load of cack about ?wimmin?s rights, and generally make out like I?m making an earnest political statement. That way I won?t have to suffer the embarrassment of lookin? like a bloke at the side of all those amply titted, amply hipped, small waisted, 80?s dolly birds.?

One of those "nurses" (the one in the top right corner) looked remarkably like Teresa May. So that's a whayhay then !wink!
