Just watched the Flick and found it brilliant in parts
After watching all the ra ra extras from the makers thought I'd check up on the creator of the graphic comic it was based on
Alan Moore don't pull no punches.Comics shouldn't be made into film
END OF DISCUSSION...he puts it a bit more eloquently of course
I love the way he says I don't want my name associated with the product or any of the royalties
A man of high ethics

When the films made of his work are almost universally rubbish you can't really blame Moore for wanting to distance himself from them.
Swamp Thing, League Of Extrordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Hellblazer (Constantine)....although I quite liked Constantine...possibly because I hadn't read the comics....but as a blond Scouse smart-arse was turned into Keanu Reeves in LA you can see how some fans....and Moore would be a bit peeved.
V For Vendetta was certainly an improvement, but far from perfect, and a long long way from the sophistication and complexity of the graphic novel it's based on.
I'm holding out some hope for the movie version of what is arguably Moore's greatest work, Watchmen. Zack Snyder who directed the Dawn Of The Dead remake and 300 has assembled an interesting cast and looks to be filming from a script alomost totally faithful to the original material.
Moore might finally get to see a decent film of his work.....if he bothers to go and see it!

Thats obviously part of it but I also think DC comics taking away control of 2 of his babies by deceptive means wouldn't have helped
I wouldn't expect he'd watch any of his films even if he directed & produced them because of the very real shortcomings of one form of art to another;-)
Still,We live in hope

Even though I liked the movie, for me, it isn't a patch on the original comic storyline.
I read it when it was originally published in 'Warrior' monthly, way back in the early 80's, along with the revamped Marvelman (now Miracleman due to Marvel Comics).
I still own them all in mint condition. I wonder how much they are worth now?

I've never read any of the comics so can't really comment
I know the author is dirty because of the obvious intention of taking a pot shot at bush & his neo-conservatives v terrorism instead of staying true and making it anarchy vs fascism. Some would say theres little difference but then they didn't write it
Given that the comics have been reprinted for ever in a day(the reason Moore never got the rights back) I'd guess it would come down to how many are still around
Find the right sucker at a convention

, and you could make a pretty packet if their in mint condition & rare
