Threats

No, not the good-natured ones thrown back and forward in the course of some healthy banter.
In the last few weeks, one of our posters has been threatened at least twice (once to my certain knowledge; the other time, I think so but since the link didn't work, and the author of the post is not the brightest, who knows). Firstly, and I know that the dust has settled on this but it's worth repeating, his real name was being used in intimidatory posts by someone who then gave an indication that he knew where he lived as well. Misuse of data? Never!
And now, there is---and I can only assume it's a threat since the link in the post isn't working for me---an implied threat against the same poster due to him being honest about what he does for a living.
In the first instance, as far as any of us are aware, nothing happened to the person making the threats. In the second instance, the post is still in existence, and presumably the sad inadequate responsible for it is still making a threat.
If this were us committing offences against people in the industry, I suspect we'd end up with more than being sent to the naughty step. Are we to assume that daring to criticise and argue with people within the industry will lead to similar threats---and will be condoned?
