How far will you go to win?

Example:

You've been asked by your son, daughter, niece or nephew to play a board game such as monopoly, drafts or some such. Do you go all out to win knowing your skills (should be) far superior, or do you let your young relative win easily?

With me, it depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm annoyed, I'll go out to win convincingly. However, that can upset my young relative, so the next time I'll let them win.

I let them win...but then again I'm a Newcastle supporter so I let anybody win. Anyway, as we Mags say 'Winning is for losers'.

Win at all costs - cheat if you have to.

Make them cry and get used to disappointment. They'll thank you for it one day.

No - that's too cruel.

If they find out you're cheating, then you're cheating in the wrong way.

Only cheat if you have to, and do it well - they'll never know.

Learning them that life is full of disappointments will harden them for adulthood, and make them more balanced adults.

Cheating is cheating! There's not a right or wrong way to cheat.

Many board games are uncheatable (if there's such a word).

Who'll think that cheating is perfectly acceptable.

No, i have never defeated a child in a game, but i've never made it obvious. That's just bad. What's the point in defeating a 9 yr old at scrabble.....bad form, i say. It gives me more pleasure to see someone less able than myself to win. Not that i'm bragging but i'm a mean pool player
