The worst places in Scotland tend to be among the best, paradoxically. St Andrews and Pitlochry, for example, are great---but a lot of the locals are just dreadful snobs.

St. Andrews, gorgeous, but correspondingly pretentious. I went camping in Pitlochry as a Scout; memorable fior both the right and wrong reasons!
