Just trying to restore life to a dying forum.

A great joy is finding new stuff---whether it be books or music. Or discovering stuff I should have found years ago.

Discovering stuff i should have found years ago depresses me, as I feel i have missed out.

It's daft for me posting a thread I can't answer adequately, there are a few tihngs, I love the buzz of running, missing my 'hit' due to injury. There's live music, and there's comedy too.

To be honest, I just don't know! A lot from the past, at present, hmmmm.........
being with the people that matter.

You have to be more zen about the discoveries. I think you find stuff just when you need it most. People have recommended authors and bands to me, and you nod politely and say something positive but do nothing. And when you do listen (or read), it's like the little light bulb going on in your head.

Hope the injury clears up, Fudgey. I know how important the adrenaline buzz is to you runners.

On the otherhand you go to a film a friend recommends and come out wondering what you did to deserve that

Maybe I'll find out as I get older.

Still, it is always nice finding such a gem.

Sometimes it's a mood thing, Buttsie, and something is just right at that moment in your life.

I watched Moulin Rouge after someone had been going on about how great it was---and it just didn't live up to the expectations of all that praise. Don't get me wrong, it was a good film and funny, just not world-changing.

Best not to push too hard with recommendations.

Expectation kills enjoyment.

The simple things

growing your own produce

followed by cooking up a storm for friends(those brave enought to accept an invitation)

Drop kicking black cats that stray onto my property or alternatively giving them a bath
