On the strength of his interview on Parky at the weekend, I purchased his book........its a cracking read.
My first ever football boots were Bobby Charlton 'Stylo' in 1968.
Top man, very old school and if he was playing today in his prime? What price would he be valued at?
Incredibly humble in his achievements and despite all his accolades, medals and trophys, his proudest moment was having his grandson named after him. Says it all if you ask me

A genuine football man through and through, no ego.
He just loves training and passing his skills on to the kids.
A great man.

I recall growing up when someone did something wrong, parents would say 'Bobby Charlton wouldn't have said/done that'......and that was enough to know you'd let the side down.

Shearer was a tad handy with his elbows as well..........remember when he nearly kicked Neil Lennon in the head when playing against Leicester? As he was then England captain he was let off with a 'talking too' from the ref.
Lineker? whining bastard on the pitch, always fucking whining to the ref. There's a story about 'Gal' as a serial sex pest...........rumored to have 'done' Ulrika..........but no-one raised an eyebrow as many footballers have also 'done' the Swedish minx, including 'Dogger' Stan Collymore who LITERALLY did her for 'dissin' him in a crowded bar in France '98 tornament.
Sorry this has sullied the Bobby Charlton thread

Just had 'Wrong 'em Boyo' from The Clash piping through the speakers there...........
I know you are a fan too. What do you make of the antics of Stagger Lee and Billy and the faux-ska bit?
