If I recall correctly they were riding the cresp of the wave that was MTV

When your look*weren't they all so pretty and well dressed) & video clip were more important than your music

I think Duran Duran are good. Spandau Ballet too maybe I'm going through an 80's retrospective.

I just think its unfair how people really trivialise others efforts as just "shit"

You dont like it fine but why Duran Duran? I can think of bands I dont like nearly as much because their image is too pretty boy ish and makes me feel uncomfortable with their pukey saccharine candy coated oads to love.

At least Duran Duran kept things sexy and made you feel cool. The girls quite like them too.
