I recall Beadle on Danny Baker's short-lived late night chat show (early 90s?) and he didn't seem to mind talking about it when the host enquired.

Yes he does have a problematic hand. There was an occassion when I came close to thumping him (long boring story), I didnt notice the hand until the moment had past and I would have felt pretty terrible if I had decked him.
