Football Factory

This one slipped through my net. Funny as hell in parts, especially as its based on the lunatics of Chelsea and I can see certain elements of certain people I used to see down The 'Bridge 'back in the day' before Chelsea went corporate and poncey.
Iffy script, mockney accents, but I liked it, especially as I had a beer at the same time.
I've been told Green Street is better..............is it?
I always thought ID was the best football hooligan film.

No, the best football film was the television one that was shown about ten or more years ago, that one with a young Gary Oldman in it; can't remember what it was called though. I think they were followers of the 'Hammers'.
In the early eighties I was working darnnn Laaandon and was living just near the Chelsea football ground, so what you might say, well that was f*****g dangerous, me being a Leed United fan and a Yorkshire accent to boot.
Leeds and Chelsea do not mix.

It's 'The Firm' - 'Gary Oldman is Bex Bissell, a respectable estate agent who loves his wife, loves his son and loves his violence. Bex is the leader of a gang of football supporters known as the Inter City Crew - his firm. He plans to unite rival firms and lead them all to the European Chmpionship in Germany, a chance to take on the locals. But that's a position he's going to have to fight for.'

Gary Oldman, Philip Davis and Lesley Manville who at the time I think was the real-life Mrs Oldman before he traded up to Uma Thurman. Directed by Alan Clarke who knew his football .. Clarke was an Everton fan I believe.

Would be from about 1988 I think.

Green Street was beyond shit.

How can you take Hobbit pretending to be a hooligan seriously?
