Anyone remember playing this at school? I remember one ginger kid being 'cloth-lined' by a british bulldog, hitting him in the throat and he swallowed his tongue. (he turned out ok until running into a wall playing the same game).

What a game!

Surely the health and safety gestapo have banned this by now?

It was banned by Maggie Thatcher apparently. Don't know what year but I'm only 31 and remember playing it when I was around 7-10ish.

Kids don't die from cracked skulls and falling from trees anymore. It's just obesity and diabetes now.

Kids always carried knives if they could get their hands on em.....and alcohol. Nothing new there. It's the drugs & guns that have come to -if you forgive my terminology- fruition.

We're mainly talking about teenagers now though; I was originally thinking of 'kids'.

Yeh, I remember that one, pretty good game as well.
Speaking of school games, anyone remember the vicious game of 'Kingball'?
It might have been called something different in other schools, basically you all stood in circle with your legs apart and dropped the ball and whoever's leg it goes through is 'on'. He then throws it anyone and they join the crew when they get hit, until everyone has been hit.
This game caused more fights then anything else, especially when your mate threw it at your head from two yards away like a cricket ball.

Ah yes I remember it well. it was like a rite of passage.

What about tunnel of death or to paraphrase the vernacular "Tunnel Of Deff"

There was alsways some poor sap that got an extra kicking there and it was usually the poor weedy kid

We used to play BB. Our version was slightly different by the fact that the "Bulldogs" had rubberised balls which they threw at you to make you "it".

Played that too but we called it Bull Dog Sting Ups! Which kind of echoed the ethnicity of our school I think
