Last week my 7 year old nephew spent the whole day, along with his class and two other classes, learning about islam..........the whole lot....., food, traditions etc...etc....They were even told to bin their home made sandwiches etc. and eat a muslim lunch prepared for them.................

My brother in law, decided to ask the school, a state school on the outskirts of a large city in England, if next week they could arrange for Christianity to be learnt about for a day........

He was informed by the school that he was very close to being reported for insighting racist behavour by requesting that and his commnets......the parents of the muslim kids would NOT allow their children to learn about Christianity and that subject WILL NEVER be discussed.

Firstly, it's a good thing for children to learn about other cultures and religions. It only broadens their knowledge and understanding which can't be bad for your nephew, wouldn't you agree?

Secondly, I can't see why Muslim parents wouldn't allow their children to learn about Christianity, Jesus is in the Quran after-all - although they see him as another prophet rather than the son of God. There will be certain practises they may not be allowed to participate in -for instance: learning about the culture of the Sunday Roast- but there's nothing stopping the kids learning about it.

Believe me, I'm not a fan of Islam, or any religion, and I dislike Islam's attitude to 'others'. It's the least tolerant of religions and cultures, make no mistake. Some of the spite, intolerance and hate that comes from the Muslim communities would make a BNP meeting look like a knitting club for grannies; learning, though, would be accepted, and even expected by most Muslim parents.

Von, Boy, you are right to speak out. What you highlight here is an iniquity, a travesty of reason and common sense. Those who are responsible for this are as mad, bad, and dangerous as the fascists they profess to oppose. To disagree with them or take an opposite view is to now risk being denounced as ?a racist? and, in some instances, being incarcerated for ?thought crimes?. We are sleepwalking into an Orwellian nightmare. I urge you to redouble your efforts and rouse the apathetic masses to rise up against the disciples of Big Brother - before it?s to late. With ID cards, 24/7 computer surveillance and DNA databases almost upon us, it?s already the eleventh hour.

I've just resisted sending my 2 year old to a very good but expensive school that takes kids from 2-13. Reason being on our guided tour we were in the 2 year olds class and it was 10.00am - snack break and the teacher led all the yes you guessed it 2 year olds in a prayer to thank god for the food they were going to eat. 2 year olds I ask you !!! That is seriously wrong. How can anyone want to brainwash a 2 year old with religion. Mine can't even talk properly yet. I don't care what religion (it is this was C of E). It's totally obscene and out of order.

Better off adopting the French model- no religion in schools, whatsoever. They teach philosophy instead. Better that than the nonsense which seems to operate at the moment.
