Watched this film a few nights ago im sure ITV showed it around 1964 as a schools programme.

Never read the diary, or seen the film, but both would be a good window into history for young people---and she is someone they could identify with.

There's a story that one US theatre production of this starred "actress" Pia Zadora (the talent vacuum whose thankfully brief career was bankrolled by a millionaire husband). So bad was she that when the Germans raided the house the Frank family were hiding in, someone in the audience shouted, "They're in the attic!"

In the attic with the butterflies...LOL

I'd expect the Natalie Portman effort would have been more believable
