I think he was shafting another bird, and was too scared to tell the wife. It's fell through, and now he wants to come home.

He fucked up going to the cop station first. She'll have been informed.
If I'd have been him I'd have tracked down Jeremy Beadle, a camera crew, and just turned up at the house. He could have disguised himself as the gas man, or found a way into the house while she was at work, so he could burst out of the wardrobe, shouting 'Honey, I'm home!' Even better, just leave a box of Black Magic at the side of her bed, with his signature on a card.
God, why didn't he come to me?

I think you could get Lord Lucan outta hiding with a prank like that. After all its all about winning hearts and minds. Some thing like that would certainly have me rooting for the fella.

He'll be gutted when he gets home and finds out how much his funeral cost! His credit rating will have gone down the pan as well.
