Agreed, he's an excellent coach who won't be afraid to drop some of the under achieving slack bastards.

But, ask yourself this, IF Italy meet England in a crucial match, where will his loyalties lie?

The best thing Capello could do is give Becks the armband back.

Terry's not done anything to improve team spirit, or rally the troops when they've needed something.

Rooney looked comfortable with the armband against Roma, and was Man Utd's best player. A natural leader for England in a few years.

Indeed he won't- the two fell out at Real Madrid. Expect a facesaving deal whereby Becks gets his 100-or even 101 , to make it look good- caps and then announces his retirement from international football.

As long as Capello sacks Terry as skipper , things will be looking good. But a lot of shit to clear out of the Augean stables.

Capello- the youngest looking 61 yo I've ever seen!

They never had a problem with eachother. It was the press that just assumed they'd fell out.

The trouble was with Real Madrid's president telling the press that Beckham would sign a new deal, but because Becks was out of the team, he signed for LA Galaxy. This made the Real president look foolish, and a liar, and he told Capello not to pick Beckham under any circumstances. Capello wasn't playing Beckham because of poor form, nothing else. As soon as Beckham's form picked up, Capello went against the presidents wishes in bringing Becks back into the team.

Capello is a very pragmatic man, and if he thinks Beckham will be useful for the team, he's in. Not favouritism, no politics or bowing to FA/media/fan pressure; it's all about winning for him.

Rooney a yob? When? Where? So he's lost his temper a few times and that makes him a yob?

People like Viera and Keane were excellent captains, and had worse disciplinary records than Rooney.

Oh, and I saw Beckham's 'one dimensional play' in England's last game. It ended in a goal - as per usual.

So who deserves this armband then Alice?
