Why is it that when, so often, people seek professional advice, and are responded to privately, it is rarely ( if ever) taken up.?

Yep. Liz
And because they were private mails - in response to Public enquiries, you will not know.
The fact remains that some people would rather see their names/post in print than be actually serious about their requests.
It is of no consequence to me, I do'nt give a shit. Just curious. But in a way,- kind of sad.

Maybe the people already have the answer and are simply looking to reinforce it by posting.

Then when someone like yourself gives them a bit of objective advice that doesn't do this-they ignore it-to their detriment no doubt.

Also comes down to who you are talking with ie.industry or public.

It's usually the old "wise head on young shoulders" thing, MA. Not suggesting that you're over 25, but you know what I mean. Poeple usually look for advise that confirms the decision they have already made, and wil tend to ignore anything else.
