I can't believe all the R.I.P. nonsense being written on blogs about 2 of his characters now being mothballed, ali g & borat
The 3rd which it become the new Star(bruno an Austrian gay fashion presenter)is painful at best but of course his star has risen so high there will be a movie
Ali G was funny,
Borat was hilarious but Bruno is scraping the bottom of the barrel

I'd go for that, infact i feel the Cohen is actually better than sellers.

Mmmm, I'm not sure about that. Let see what he comes up with after the Bruno movie.

Sorry, no way.
Sellers was in a league of his own, no one could ever come near him.

In Sellers early days he was brilliant on firstly the radio (with the Goons) and in British movies (I'm All Right Jack, etc). When he went to Hollywood, apart from the Pink Panther films, the rest of his output was generally dire.

Lol.........I don't think so. Sellers was one of a kind.

I'm not big on comparisons, but if you think about the 3 stereotypes that SBC has mocked - ali g, borat and bruno......they are amazingly astute observations of modern men and kind of...what's gone wrong. Whether he intended it to be that or not is irrelevant but to find one excellenty funny character is brilliant let alone 3.
Some of the Bruno sketches were brilliant so I've no doubt the Bruno movie would be equally funny as the ones that preceded

Granted theres plenty of anecdotes about sellers both positive and negative but as for his comedy credentials all he ever did was act the character somebody had written/created and his acting only ever took place in the confines of a studio.
Cohens characters had to exsist in the outside world and he needed to remain in character and think/act on his feet under some damned stressful situations.
