I hate fucking Clarkson with a passion, but as there was fuck all on TV after my orgasmic re-watching of the Great Escape, I watched this........and it was really good
James Mays visiting his sisters toys from the 70's was excellent and Richard Hammonds interview with miserable relic Evel Knievel was brilliant, even the Top Gear programme was decent......apart from the audience all crammed in trying to see if the 3 hosts could manage stand-up comedy......which they cannot!! I preferred Top Gear from the studio with nice presenters like Tiff Needal etc.

On the Evel interview, Ol' Evel came across as a mean old bastard and I think was bitter considering he had it all and now nothing (especially now!).
Richard Hammond asked what we all think now, did he crash and fail deliberatly because it kept him in the public eye? Evel decided to terminate the interview..........Louis Theroux would have been proud.
The more I see and read about his infamous Snake River Canyon jump, the more I think he bottled it and pulled his parachute early.....still, as a 12 year old watching agog......no fucker would have shattered my dreams with THAT conspiracy theory!!

Top Gear has changed considerably over the past few years. Even Clarkson admits that there's more tomfoolery than in the past. I think all three of them take the piss out of each other, becuase that's what geezers do.

I never rated EK from the start. Far too many crashes for genuine stuntman - a showman yes. As Hammond attempted to ask, why have that many crashes. The theory is that KE deliberately crashed to create more publicity for himself. Agreed, he came across as a miserable old git.

Gutted I missed the EK interview as well. I did all ways have him down as a bit of a cunt,mind.

Stayed in and watched The Great Escape was going to watch Vanity Fair and How Xmas was celebrated years ago but got tired.

All you missed was a mean old bastard moaning and wheezing. Hammond practically carried the show, including a great one liner when the Evel Knievel Parade Day started with flags waving, fat yanks eating fried chicken whooping and hollaring with fireworks going off and two jets flying overhead and Hammond commented, 'Its suddenly got all American'
The scene in the bar was funny as well, Evel was wheezing constantly and had a posse of 'Good Ol' Boys' hanging on to his every word reading to give Hammond a shoe-ing if he 'disrespected' Evel

The "hotel" that Hammond stayed in was scary. The scene when he comes back after a days filming only to discover a creepy weirdo standing outside his already opened room door. Hammond attempts to engage weirdy in a conversation, but only receives barely audible mutterings - sinister.
