Well we're nearly at the end of 2007 and it's got me thinking just how quickly this year whizzed by. In fact the last few years have flown past very speedily indeed. Since about the beginning of this century time has whistled past really fast.
Obviously there are still 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks in a year - but time does APPEAR to fly past. Didn't someone say that the older you become the quicker time passes?

Remember, the faster you travel, the slower time becomes.
As a child you can jump out of a chair in 0.3 seconds, but as a 60 year old it takes 3 seconds. As a child you can empty your bladder in 12 seconds, but as an old guy you have to wait 3 minutes before the urine even thinks about stirring!
As a kid you could cram lots of stuff into a single day - just remember everything you did in those 6 week holidays during the summer... You've slowed down and so time has sped up.
It could also have something to do with the fact that as a kid, you're counting the days until you go to 'big school', then counting the days to leaving school, then counting the days to having a drink in a pub with your mates. As an adult you've got nothing to count the days for really.

Speak for yourself----I count the days until death.
As a kid, summers went on forever. Maybe there is a magic formula in childhood that we lose as adults.

I remember when I first went to 'big school', the weeks seemed to drag past and the months went on and on. One term felt like one year and when the holidays arrived (especially the summer one) they slowly passed by.
These day Christmas holidays seem to appear every few months and birthdays flying by. !oldie!

Thus confirming the theory that the older you become the quicker the time appears pass by.
