Frogs are soft, and so a box would be less likely to damage said frogs.
Spanners are heavy, and carrying them around in a box would be cumbersome. They go in bags.

Frogs seem to have this undeserved reputation for being 'a bit mad'.
Maybe it's the googly eyes and the whole web-footed thing.
Toads, now... one was found 3000 feet down a mine shaft. Now THAT'S
mad [maybe it was getting a grant from the NCB].
And don't get me started on salamanders........ barmy bastards.
Or axolotls, who have the weirdest sex lives ever.
